Animal Ordinances and Ruling
- Each property owner is allowed to have two companion animals.
- Ordinance requires that animal(s) be under the complete control of their owner at all times, either by pen or by leash.
- The animal's pen may include the owner's house if the animal is an indoor animal; otherwise, any outside pen must be fitted for the animals needs.
- When outside the pen, a leash is required to ensure it is under the owner's control.
Loose Animals
- Any loose and/or uncontrolled animals are at risk of being picked up by Animal Control.
- If an animal is abused on property, the city will issue a warrant to investigate the abuse and may take action under ordinance or refer a state case to the Georgia Department of Agriculture Enforcement Unit.
