Public Works Director Carl Leggett
Carl has been employed with the City of Alma for 18 years. During that time he worked on the Public Works crew for 8 years before becoming the crew leader. Carl served has the crew leader for 3 years and after that he was appointed as the Public Works Director.
Carl has been to a 40hr class for water treatment and also a 40hr class on waste/water treatment. He also serves as the safety coordinator for the city. He is a certified flagger and certified in confined space entry. He has experience in lift station repair and trouble shooting.
My goal is to provide Public Works services that merit the convenience of the general public and the elected officials. The services delivered to the citizens and community is to be provided in a reliable, efficient, and effective manner. Our level of service shall meet professional standards in order to properly protect the community’s health, safety, welfare, and our employee’s safety. Public works services shall be operated and funded in a professional manner in order to assure the following:
1. Daily Operations shall be provided in a dependable and safe manner.
2. Maintenance of operating equipment shall be performed at the proper time and in a comprehensive fashion and minimize breakdowns and failures.
3. Maintenance of public facilities, parks, streets, drainage, water and sewer and solid waste shall be performed in a timely fashion and in a comprehensive manner in order to provide reliable, high quality services, and to assure the long term life of the public facilities.
4. Plan for the long-term needs of the City through sound planning, proper design and quality construction in order to provide good long-term value for the money invested.
