Permits, Inspections & Fees
Permits
Code Enforcement is responsible for issuing all building permits. A contractor may fill out a building permit application as a general contractor, an electrical contractor, a plumbing contractor, and/or a heating and air contractor. Contractors may utilize the form below to have various inspections conducted. One application and one fee will cover all of the inspections that a contractor is requesting to be conducted. Once the application is filled out, contractors are required to set up an appointment with Department Head Gary Taylor to review the application and submit a payment for permit fees.

Inspections
Code Enforcement is responsible for conducting all inspections. Contractors are required to give Code Enforcement Department Head Gary Taylor a 24 hour notice for an inspection. Please call Gary at 912-632-8072 to schedule an inspection. Code enforcement conducts the following inspections:
1. Foundation
2. Wall and Ceiling Cover Up
3. Electrical
4. Plumbing
5. Heating and Air
6. Building
7. Sign
8. Final Inspection & Certificate of Occupancy
Code Enforcement utilizes the following codes when conducting inspections:
1. International Building Code 2000
2. International Residential Code 2000
3. International Fire Code 2000
4. International Mechanical Code 2000
5. International Plumbing Code 2000
6. National Electrical Code 2008
7. Life Safety Code 2000

Other Permits and Fees
Manufactured Home
Code Enforcement is responsible for issuing manufactured home permits. The fee for a manufactured home permit is $100.00. Citizens are required to fill out the application below and contact Code Enforcement Department Head Gary Taylor to review the application and submit a payment for permit fees prior to moving the manufactured home into a properly zoned area. If a manufactured home is moved without a permit, the fee is $200.00.

Moving
Code Enforcement is responsible for issuing moving permits. The fee for moving any building or structure is $100.00.
Demolition
Code Enforcement is responsible for issuing demolition permits. The fee for the demolition of any building or structure is $50.00 up to 100,000 cu ft and $0.50 per 1,000 cu ft over 100,000 cu ft.
