Gary has been with the City of Alma for approximately 20 years serving in different capacities. A majority of Gary's employment has focused on law enforcement and code enforcement. Gary graduated in 1989 from the AIB Mechanical Engineering Program at the University of Kansas. In 2005, he graduated from the Masters Certificate Program in Code Enforcement from the University of Georgia. Gary is married and enjoys playing golf during his spare time.

Code Enforcement Program

Code Enforcement is repsonsible for the following permits and fees:
1. Building
2. Inspection
3. Manufactured Home
4. House Moving
5. Demolition
6. Sign
7. Zoning

Code Enforcement is responsible for the enforcement of all codes including Subdivision Codes, Zoning Codes, and Property Maintenance Codes. The department also provides oversight of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Flood Zone Program

Code Enforcement is responsible for the Flood Zone Program of the City of Alma. Flood zone maps and building code specifications are available in the Code Enforcement Office.  

Land Disturbance Permit

If anyone is planning to grade or clear land within the city limits of Alma, please contact the Georgia Enivronmental Protection Division at 912-264-7284 to see if a land disturbance permit is necessary.
