The City of Alma has an exclusive private contract with Southland Waste Systems of Georgia, Inc. Southland collects residential and commerical garbage. Southland collects each customer's garbage every Tuesday.

The City of Alma encourages its garbage customers to contact Southland Waste at 912-284-1000 if their garbage is not collected or missed. Customers may contact the City of Alma Water Department at 912-632-5917 if their garbage can is damaged and a new can is needed.
