Mrs. Medders began working for the City of Alma in 1974 in the Water Department. While working in the Water Department, she started assisting the former City Clerk. When the former City Clerk retired, Jackie applied for the position and got the job. Mrs. Medders has served as the City of Alma City Clerk since July of 1989. She is responsible for the financials of the city. She attends the City of Alma City Council meetings and keeps the minutes of the meetings.

She assists with the payroll of the city, files tax returns, pays all of the city's invoices, and keeps all employment records. Mrs. Medders currently serves as the Retirement Secretary. She files the employee's retirement papers and keeps retirement records. Mrs. Medders assists the city's auditors during the city's yearly audit and works with department heads to keeps their budgets in order.

Mrs. Medders enjoys reading and visiting with her family during her spare time.
