Chief of Police Brandon Sellers
Chief Brandon Sellers was appointed to lead the Alma Police Department on December 1, 2009. Prior to his appointment, he served the previous 10 years in various positions with the Millegeville, Georgia Police Department. Chief Sellers has held positions to include Patrol Officer; K-9 Officer; General Investigation Detective; Narcotics Detective; Patrol Lieutenant, and Tactical Team Leader. Chief Sellers also has spent time as a Special Agent with a multi-jurisdictional drug task force.
Chief Sellers is a native of Jones County, Georgia, has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia Military College, a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia College, and has a Georgia P.O.S.T. Supervision Certification. Chief Sellers is a Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Instructor and holds Specialized Instructor Certifications in Firearms and Speed Detection. Chief Sellers has extensive experienced in the instruction of Drug Investigations and Tactical Team Operations.
Chief Sellers is a member of the Georgia Association of Chief's of Police; the Peace Officer's Association of Georgia; the Southern States Police Benevolent Association; and the Alma Lion's Club where he currently serves as 2nd Vice-President.
Chief Sellers is married to the former Ms. Natalie St-Cyr of Thomson, Georgia and they have one daughter, Bryanna. During his off time the Chief enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, camping, and watching University of Georgia Football.
